It’s shaping up to be another great weekend in South Seattle with 80-degree days in the forecast and all sorts of fun to be had right here in our own community. Enjoy, neighbors!


1. South-End Slice July Meetup at Sam Choy Poke to the Max
The South Seattle’s foodie group South End Slice is back with a meet-up at Sam Choy’s Poke to the Max. Please RSVP so they can get an accurate headcount advise the restaurant manager. Hillman City

2. Free Movie at Beacon Hill Library
The Seattle Public Library will host free movies for all ages throughout the month of July at three Library locations, including “Zootopia” (PG) at the Beacon Hill Branch from 5:30-7:30 pm. Free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Beacon Hill 

3. Backyard Bard
GreenStage celebrates its 28th season with a Backyard Bard showing of Pericles at 7 pm Pericles at Othello Park. Othello

4. Music Under the Stars
The last in a series of free classical music events at Columbia Park; starts at 7:15 pm with a live performance followed by an audio broadcast of the evening’s Seattle Chamber Music Festival concert, streamed live into the park by KING-FM radio, direct from Benaroya Hall at 8 pm. Columbia City

5. Seattle Latin, Brazilian & Caribbean Festival
Free, all-ages festival that will present local musical and dance groups which represent the Latin, Brazilian & Caribbean cultures. At the Royal Room through July 31. Columbia City


6. Rebels & Scholars at The Station
Dope apparel. Morning beverages and vittles from The Station. Sounds of La Realeza. What better way could you start your day?! 8 am to noon at The Station. Beacon Hill 

7. Free Art Class at Mount Baker Neighborhood Center for the Arts
“Ode to Jacob Lawrence” with teaching artist Sandra Over Pressley from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Mount Baker

8. Tin Umbrella’s Third Anniversary
Help the Tin Umbrella team celebrate the coffee roasters third anniversary from 10 am to 2 pm with single-origin Ethiopian Sidamo espresso and steak bite samples with Tin Umbrella’s coffee steak rub. Hillman City

9. Summer Story Time Series at Third Place Books
