1. Yoga Night Out
Join Kanjin Yoga for a mini open house gathering of neighbors who find something in common through the practice of yoga. Music, fun for the little ones, healthy snacks and of course yoga movement from 7 to 9 pm. Hillman City

2. See a Movie at Ark Lodge Cinemas
Seattle’s best independent movie house, featuring first-run films, children’s movies, art-house specials and Dark Lodge, a series of films blending horror, the macabre and high camp. This weekend, see The Secret Life of Pets, Finding Dory, The Fits and Ghostbusters. Columbia City

3. Firefighter Story Time
Firefighters from the Seattle Fire Department and special guest Fire Chief Harold Scoggins will conduct free story times with books on fire safety and display firefighting equipment and trucks. ASL interpretation will be available; 10:30 to 11 am at Rainier Beach Library. Rainier Beach

4. Music Under the Stars
A series of free classical music events at Columbia Park; starts at 7:15 pm with a live performance followed by an audio broadcast of the evening’s Seattle Chamber Music Festival concert, streamed live into the park by KING-FM radio, direct from Benaroya Hall. at 8 pm. Columbia City


5. Chicken Coop & Urban Farm Tour
Visit Seattle’s best urban farms, including six in South Seattle! Meet fascinating people who are incorporating livestock (including goats, ducks, bunnies, all sorts of chickens and bees) and unique gardens into their home landscapes on this self-guided tour. Multiple Locations

6. Meet Kazu Kibuishi
Local graphic novel author & illustrator, Kazu Kibuishi will be at Third Place Books to give a presentation about his work and career and conduct a live demonstration, answer audience questions and sign copies of his books. 11 am-12 pm. 7. Soul Night Out
Members and guests are invited to a fundraiser for the Royal Esquire Club with a silent auction, entertainment Debbie Cavitt, Josephine Howell and Eugenie Jones, and delicious ‘Northwest soul’ from Ms. Helen’s Bistro, Taste of the Caribbean, Jones’s Original Bar-B-Que, Safari Njema Restaurant, Jackson’s Catfish Corner, Kaffa Coffee & Wine Bar and more. $40; starts at 6 pm. 8. Cinema Under the Stars
Bring the whole family, grab some popcorn, and snuggle into your favorite camping chair and blanket. Cinema Under The Stars returns to Columbia Park with the film classic, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. 9. Get Moving at Beer Sheva Park
Celebrate the kickoff of the Get Moving Initiative from noon to 3 pm at Beer Sheva Park. This free event will feature a variety of performances by local community organizations, activities, music and dance demonstrations, and light refreshments. Rainier Beach


10. Breakfast with A DJ & a Chef Tarik Abdullah
Inspired by the tastes and flavors of his childhood growing up in a Muslim family and broader community where ethnic foods were the norm, Chef Tarik’s cuisine honors traditions from North Africa and the Mediterranean. If you haven’t yet experienced his culinary creations, you must drop everything and do so this Sunday between 10 am to 2 pm at The Royal Room. Columbia City

11. Bicycle Sunday
One of South Seattle’s most beloved traditions, Bicycle Sunday is an opportunity to bike or walk along Lake Washington Boulevard south of Mount Baker Beach to the entrance to Seward Park sans motorized traffic from 10 am to 6 pm on 14 different Sundays this spring and summer (find full list here). 12. Biketopia Music Festival
Bike Works presents the The West Coast music tour by the bike collective, “Pleasant Revolution.” This collective of 18 talented musicians and performers are traveling this summer by bike and powering their entire stage by the audience peddling generators. Everyone is invited to meet at Mount Baker Beach at 11 am to ride to the site at Seward Park, where the event officially starts at noon. Seward Park

13. Wandering & Wondering Performance at Kubota Garden
The Seattle Butoh Festival 2016 is hosting events throughout the city from July 9 – 17. This weekend, it will host a performance of Wandering & Wondering at Kubota Garden. FREE, 12-3 pm. Rainier Beach
